Knitting Pattern PDF

The pattern is knitted flat and sewn up at the end. No circular knitting is required. DPNs are to make i-cords. The pattern includes instructions on how to make i-cords.

The project requires many colours in small quantities. Please feel free to use your stash.

Finished size: Reindeer 3in (8cm) high, 4in (10cm) long, Sleigh 6in (15cm) long, 3.25in (8cm) wide, 3in (8cm) sitting height, Elf 2.75in (7cm) sitting height.

Yarn

King Cole Merino Blend DK 8-ply (100% wool, 50g/104m) no more than 1 ball each

• Scarlet (009)

• Chocolate (023)

• Mustard (855)

• White (001)

Hatfield, Bonus DK (100% acrylic, 100g/280m) or similar coloured DK yarn

Oddments of; Flesh Tone (963), Black (965), Sunflower (978), Powder Blue (960), Bluebell (969), Iced Pink (958), Pumpkin (766), and Lemongrass (699)

Sirdar Snowflake DK (100% polyester, 25g/85m)

Oddments of Milky (630)

Small amounts of yellow, brown, dark brown, pink, bottle green, red, and white 4-ply-fingering

Small amounts of self-striping sock yarn

Other supplies

• 5.9in x 7.9in (15cm x 20cm) Lightweight cardboard

• 11.8in (30cm) ribbon (optional)

• Toy stuffing

• 2 x 11.8in (30cm) cotton cord (Pearl cotton 05)

• 2 x 6mm gold jingle bell

• Cotton thread

• 3mm crochet hook

• A chenille needle

Tension

28 sts x 36 rows = 10cm x 10cm over (not essential)

Tools

• A pair of 2.75mm (US 2) DPN needles *All pieces are knitted flat and sewn up at the end. DPNs are to make i-cords.

• 3mm crochet hook or similar, to make chains

• A chenille needle with a large eye and sharp point

Tips

• The pieces need to be knitted tight so that the stuffing will not be visible. If you find it difficult to knit DK yarn on fine needles, use slightly larger needles.

• Leave long ends for the parts that require assembly.

• Sew the seam with RS facing, using mattress stitch.
